The Hands Behind the Stone
For twenty-five years, I have lived a dual life. By day, I navigate the logic of silicon and code—a world of infinite speed and invisible architecture. By night, I return to the oldest technology known to humanity: the strike of a copper billet against obsidian, the sharp crack of flint, and the slow, deliberate work of revealing a shape that has been waiting inside the rock for millennia.
The Connection
People often ask how a developer, a poet, and a flint-knapper coexist in the same person. The answer is simple: revelation.
Whether I am structuring a complex digital system or removing flakes from a raw obsidian slab, the goal is the same—to strip away the excess until only the truth remains. My poetry is the language of that truth; my knapping is the physical manifestation of it. I have spent a quarter-century sharpening these edges, finding the rhythm in the dust and the pulse in the prose.
The "Why"
This studio is not just about the art I create; it is about the life I am choosing to build.
After two decades of staring into a monitor, I realized that the most important time I have isn't found in a pull request or a deployment—it is found in the quiet moments between the strikes of a stone. I started Paleo Poet Studios to reclaim my time, to work with my hands, and most importantly, to be present for my teenage daughter.
When you hold a piece from this shop, you aren't just holding a tool or a display item. You are holding a piece of my transition—from the burnout of the digital grind to the intentionality of the ancient craft.
Thank you for being part of this story.
